Effective from 1 July 2017, Toyota has revised prices across its products in India. As per fresh change in price, the Japanese manufacturer has passed on benefits of reduction in prices for regular models to customers, while hybrids have become expensive. Based on tax structures that have been prevalent before introducing GST, the new discount and hiked prices will vary from city to city.

In Mumbai, Toyota Liva is now cheaper by Rs 1.48 lakh and the Etios attracts a discount of Rs 2.02 lakh. Customers who have been eager for the Etios Cross or the Camry petrol, can get it cheaper by Rs 62 thousand and Rs 3.33 lakh respectively. Popular selling models like the Innova Crysta and the Corolla Altis, are now discounted by Rs 2.0 lakh and Rs 2.08 lakh respectively. The new GST taxes on SUVs larger than 4-metres and are powered by larger engines, which will now attract 43 per cent. That´s 12 per cent lower than the earlier rates. This explains why Toyota Fortuner and the Land Cruiser Prado attract lucrative discounts of Rs 3.27 lakh and Rs 12.29 lakh, respectively.

Toyota’s hybrid cars like the Prius and the Camry hybrid have, however, become more expensive by Rs 75 thousand and Rs 1.58 lakh respectively. The hike is particularly higher by over Rs 3.5 lakh in Bangalore and up to 5.24 lakh in Delhi, as the capital earlier had a lower pre-GST rates for hybrid vehicles. Moreover, Delhi-NCR also witnesses smaller price reductions on regular models as they have always been priced lower as compared to the other cities.
