      Toyota racing arm TDR coming to India next year.

      Toyota Motors, the Japan based leading car maker, is eying to roll-out its motorsports arm TRD (Toyota Racing Development) in the Indian market very soon. The Indian subsidiary of the firm has already received the approval from its Japanese parent and it has now started conducting the market study for analyzing the scope of motorsports and car performance tuning shops in the Indian market. The car maker will showcase its range of performance tuned cars at its platform at the upcoming Delhi international auto expo, in January 2012.
       
      Speaking to the Business Line, Deputy Managing Director of Toyota Kirloskar Motors, Mr. Sandeep Singh said, “We will either launch it at the Auto Expo or around three months after that. We will share all the relevant information at the Expo as we confirm our plans for the Toyota range in India. The approvals from our head office (in Tokyo) have just come.”

      Toyota’s TRD provides a range of car performance enhancing equipments along with a range of accessories for the company’s product line-up. The performance tuning parts of TRD include suspension kits, brake pads, superchargers and sport exhausts. After its debut in India, all these equipments will be available for the Toyota Kirloskar product line-up including sedans like Corolla Altis and Camry, and SUVs like Land Cruiser and Fortuner.
       
      The entry of TRD is expected to further boost the enthusiasm of motorsports lovers in the Indian market, the number of which is rapidly increasing after the successful event of Formula F1 in October 2011.
