      Toyota Kirloskar Motor marks a 5 per cent fall in September 2012

      Toyota Kirloskar Motor has come up with the sales report for September 2012, wherein it sold 12,115 units with a fall of 5 per cent under the review of 12,807 vehicles delivered in corresponding period last year. However, the company's flagship model Innova managed to find 5,858 new buyers, which enable it to mark a growth of 23 per cent against 4,765 units delivered in September 2011.

      Following the league of success, the sales of Fortuner Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) also reported a surge of 21 per cent with figures standing at 1,301 units during the period as compared against 1,078 models sold in same period last year. Considering the sales of Etios sedan, the car maker managed to deliver 4,440 units of the model against 5,926 vehicles delivered in same tenure of 2011. Besides, the auto maker's recently introduced premium sedan Camry managed to find 85 buyers in September 2012, while Corolla Altis found 424 new buyers.

      Considering the exports of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the auto maker shipped 2,176 vehicles of Etios fleet to South Africa in September this year. On these sales figures, the Deputy Managing Director (Marketing) of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Sandeep Singh quoted, “We have seen a drop in sales last month. The market has been quite sluggish and the market sentiments are very low in the passenger car segment. We hope to see it picking up in the festive season.”
