The Innova Crysta from Toyota, a popular name in the utility vehicle segment in the country now gets the 16-inch alloys as standard across all variants. Prior to this, the top spec ZX variant was the only one to be offered with 17-inch alloys, while the rest of the variants were offered with 16-inch alloys. Reports indicate that the company’s decision has been influenced by customer feedbacks.

The earlier 17-inch alloys with 215/55 tyres though looked visually appealing, the thinner side walls risked damage to the wheels and it also did not offer the best of ride quality. The standard 205/65 tyres around 16-inch wheels gets thicker side walls that not just makes it a safer option but also delivers a better drive quality. Moreover, replacing the smaller tyres is also more affordable from a buyer’s perspective. Apart from this minor upgrade, the top-spec ZX variant does not get any other changes for now and the vehicle continues to be offered at its existing price.

The Toyota Innova Crysta is available in two engine options. The new 2.4-litre engine comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and generates 147bhp of power and 360Nm of torque, while the 2.8-litre engine comes mated to an automatic gearbox and generates 174bhp of power at 3400rpm and 360Nm of torque. For safety, all the variants come with three airbags (including driver knee airbag), ABS and brake assist as standard.
