Toyota is expected to launch a special edition of the Innova Crysta and it has been spotted at a dealer yard ahead of its debut later this year. The new car is likely to be called the Crysta Sport Touring and is the same as the Toyota Venturer sold in Indonesia.
As the name suggests, it’s a sporty version of the Innova Crysta and the updates appear to all be cosmetic and revolve around the exterior of the vehicle.Changes include black body cladding, black wheels, chrome garnish for the ORVMs as well as the bumpers. The cabin is based on the top-of-the-line six-seater ZX variant but it has now been trimmed out in black leather. It is expected to be made available in two colours- wine red and super white.
This special edition is likely to be offered with the 2.7-litre petrol and the 2.8-litre diesel. The former can be had with a six-speed manual or a six-speed AT while this diesel engine is only offered with the six-speed AT.
Given the Innova Crysta’s high price, we believe that Toyota will only charge a marginal premium over the price of the standard model when it launches the vehicle a short while from now.
