We reported earlier that Toyota, the Japanese carmaker, is working on the facelifted version of the Corolla. We, in fact, brought you a couple of spied pictures yesterday, and today we have a clearer picture of the updated model.

The company has no plans of launching any all new product in the Indian car market this year. But, the maker will launch a series of new cars and facelifts of its existing models in the country in 2016.Toyota might unveil the new-generation Innova and Fortuner, and Vios sedan in the country at the 2016 Delhi Motor Show. Interestingly, the manufacturer is also working on the facelifted version of the Corolla sedan.

The clear exterior images of the updated Corolla has, reportedly, leaked on the web-world. At the recently concluded Geneva Motor Show, Toyota had presented its safety technology on the Corolla sedan, though that looks slightly different from the spied model. The new-generation Corolla sedan was launched in the Indian car market in 2014 and we expect that the mid-life facelift model will only come by 2016.

The updated Corolla sedan will be equipped with a new grille, bumper and head-lamps. The bumper now gets less chrome treatment. Also visible is a thin black strip that replaces big chrome slat, and there is a chrome treatment on logo which extends and surrounds head-lamps. The sedan features LED daytime running lamps on the sides of the lower front fascia. At the rear, the Corolla sedan gets some significant changes including revised bumper, fixed spoiler and clear lens tail-lamps, etc. The side profile of the sedan largely resembles the same, but the wheel arches gets new alloy wheels and black side skirt.

The exact launch or unveiling details of the new Corolla is yet to be announced. Though some media reports suggest that the car will make its global debut at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show.
