The Scion brand from Toyota launched over a decade ago for younger audience had failed to evoke much demand from carbuyers. As per a fresh announcement from the company, it has discontinued the Scion brand in the international markets owing to its unimpressive sales numbers. Speaking more on the occasion, Jim Lentz, Founding vice president of Scion, CEO, Toyota Motor North America, said, “This isn’t a step backward for Scion; it’s a leap forward for Toyota. Scion has allowed us to fast-track ideas that would have been challenging to test through the Toyota network.”

To ensure smooth transition, all Scion badged vehicles would be rebadged as Toyota except for tC sports coupé that would no longer be offered. Sources have further added that the C-HR shall be offered under the Toyota branding. Apart from this, the company shall also FR-S sports car, iA sedan and iM 5-door hatchback under the Toyota branding. Moreover, Toyota shall be handling service, warranty, repair and financing for Scion models
