      Toyota 860 Special Edition introduced

      Formerly known as Scion FR-S sports coupe, the vehicle is now called as Toyota 86 for the 2017 model year. Also popularly known as Toyota GT 86, a 2 + 2 sports car, it has been only offered in one trim level until now This time around based on the GT 86, the Japanese automaker has introduced the 2017 Toyota 860 Special Edition. The 860 nomenclature denotes 860 units finished in Halo White and another 860 in Supernova Orange, which has been exclusively offered for the special edition.

      Cosmetically, the 860 special edition gets black racing stripes, black side mirrors, a blackened rear spoiler and a black-chrome finish for the 17-inch wheels. As for the interior, the vehicle gets black leather with orange contrast stitching on the seats, dash, door panels, steering wheel, handbrake, and shift boot. Speaking of features, the 860 Special Edition additionally offers push-button ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control and heated seats. Additionally, it also comes with a larger 4.2-inch TFT screen with a g-meter and lap-timer functions in addition to trip information.

      Under the hood, it continues to be powered by Toyota-Subaru D-4S boxer 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that generates 203bhp in six-speed manual, while the six-speed automatic generates 198bhp of power. The Toyota GT86 has not been the best performer in its segment, but it still retains a loyal fan baseover theyears. Expected to launch later this month, the vehicle will likely be priced from $29,155 to $29875 (Approx. Rs 19.39 lakh – Rs 19.86 lakh).
