Top reasons to buy the new Renault Duster

The Renault Duster has finally got a long overdue update. While Renault calls it the new Duster, we would prefer to think of it as the most comprehensive update to the SUV since this version was launched in 2016.

      New Renault Duster

There’s a host of cosmetic changes but not so many that the identity of the Duster has been lost. Renault is offering the SUV in nine trims, two new colour options with a 1.5-litre petrol and diesel motor of which the latter can be had in two power outputs. Prices are in the range of Rs 7.99 lakhs to Rs 12.49 lakhs (All-India ex-showroom).

      The good
Well for one, it’s a very unique looking car thanks to that funky Franco-Romanian design philosophy. You get more or less everything that’s expected of a car in this part of the market including a top-of-the-line 4X4 diesel engine option. Also, if I had to add personally, it’s one of the few cars that looks good wearing the combination of black steel wheels and silver lug nuts.

      The not so good?
There’s no top-of-the-line petrol version. Having such a model in the line up would expand the range of buyers who look at the Duster as an option when looking to buy cars in this lucrative segment. This part of the market is set to expand over the next few years and having a model that will cover every demand will add to volumes.

      The variant to get
All version get dual front air bags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, speed and impact sensing door locks and seat belt reminders. So if it's safety you are looking for then the whole range is covered. We would suggest that you invest in the top-of-the-line RXZ models if you are looking at diesels as they are fully loaded. The petrol engine option is only offered with the RxE and RxS variants.
