Top 5 Most Popular two-wheeler manufacturers in May

      Rank 5: Yamaha

Yamaha is the fifth popular two-wheeler brand on BikeWale for the month of May. This was possible as the company has a good mix of scooters and motorcycles in its portfolio. For the company, products like Fascino and FZ are doing pretty well and that has helped Yamaha stay ahead of its other Japanese counterpart – Suzuki. With a little over 7 lakh visits and close to 2.3 lakh buying interest, Yamaha has seen balanced research activities from the Indian consumers.

      Rank 4: Royal Enfield

Royal Enfield has never spent on TV commercials in the last couple of years. Why? Because they don’t need to. The brand is so strong that, consumers tend to book the bikes without even taking it for a test ride. Bikes like the Classic 350 has helped Royal Enfield to become the fourth popular brand in May. With around 8.5 lakh visits, 2.39 lakh buying interests, Royal Enfield has an impressive figure, considering the fact that, none of their motorcycles are priced below Rs 1 lakh

      Rank 3: Hero MotoCorp

Hero MotoCorp – the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the world is in the third spot which is quite surprising.  But unfortunately this is the case because it doesn’t have a range of products that has the ability to lure young buyers, who are tech savy and internet friendly. With mass market brands like Splendor and Passion under its portfolio, Hero needs to work on getting more youthful products like the Maestro Edge to the Indian market. This will result into more consumers going online to research about the brand and its products. Its overall visits were marginally more than Royal Enfield at 8.52 lakh and close to 3 lakh buyers showed interest in buying Hero products.

      Rank 2: Bajaj

Bajaj has products like the Avenger 150, Pulsar RS200 and the V15 which is targeted towards the young consumers. This has helped the Pune-based manufacturer to be in the top when it comes to online research. With over 1.1 million visits, Bajaj is in the second spot. However, Bajaj managed to get the least buying ratio at 28 per cent out of all the five manufacturers here.

      Rank 1: Honda

Over the last couple of years, Honda has managed to earn the loyalty of millions of Indian consumers, due to its strong brand recall value which is usually associated with reliability and refinement. And this has made the most popular manufacturer on BikeWale for the month of Masy. With close to 1.3 million visits in May on BikeWale, there’s almost a difference of 6 lakh visits between Honda and the fifth most popular bike maker, Yamaha. This shows the customers’ perception and preferences over other brands. Around 4 lakh consumers showed interest in buying one of the Honda product, with majority one being for the CB Hornet 160R and the Activa range of scooters.
