Be it a base model or a top end variant, you can be sure of dual front airbags and ABS with EBD being offered as a standard feature. The newly launched Baleno gets 1.2-litre VVT petrol engine option, while the diesel gets 1.3-litre DDiS 190 engine. The petrol generates about 83bhp of power and 115Nm of torque, while the diesel offers 74bhp of power and 190Nm of torque. The petrol trim gets an optional CVT apart from the 5-speed manual option, while the diesel is only available in manual for now.

      The newly launched compact SUV named TUV300 from Mahindra and Mahindra has also garnished a warm welcome from the Indian masses. The vehicle has reportedly accumulated over 12,000 bookings in just about a month since launch. The TUV300 compact SUV gets a 1.5-litre diesel three cylinder mHawk engine that generates 84bhp of power. The vehicle is also the only one to be offered with an optional AMT system in its segment and generates about 81bhp. The vehicle also claims to return an impressive fuel-efficiency figures of about 18.49 km/l.

      New Ford Figo

      The new Ford Figo has emerged as a strong potential in its segment. The hatchback gets two petrol engines and one diesel engine option. The petrol is offered in 1.2L Ti-VCT that generates 87bhp and 112Nm of torque, while the 1.5L Ti-VCT generates 110bhp and 136Nm of torque. The diesel on the other hand gets 1.5 TDCi engine that generates 99bhp and 215Nm of torque. The petrol trim with a bigger engine comes 6 speed automatic transmission, while the rest are offered with 5-speed manual transmission.

      The new SUV from Hyundai named Creta comes with impressive choice of engine options. The petrol trim gets a 1.6-litre Dual VTVT engine that generates about 121 bhp of power at 6400 rpm and 154Nm of torque at 4850 rpm. The petrol version comes mated to 6-speed manual transmission only and delivers an mileage of 12.65 km/l. The diesel on the other hand gets a 1.4-litre CRDi engine that generates 88 bhp of power at 4000 rpm and 224Nm of torque at a band of 1500 to 2750 rpm, while also managing to deliver fuel-efficiency figure of about 21km/l. The 1.6-litre CRdi diesel on the other hand generates 126 bhp at 4000 rpm and 265 Nm of torque between 1900 to 2750 rpm. Apart from six-speed manual, the vehicle is also offered in optional 6-speed automatic box

      Renault Kwid is a fresh new entry level option from the French automaker in India. The Kwid comes with a 800cc engine that generates a modest 54bhp of power and 72Nm of torque. The hatchback comes mated to five-speed manual transmission and returns a fuel efficiency figure of about 25.17km/l. The hatchback offers digital instrument cluster across all trims, whereas on higher trims you may expect 7-inch touch-screen navigation system and driver side airbags. The hatchback has been launched in the country at a lucrative starting price tag of Rs 2,56,968 (Ex-showroom, Delhi).
