      Things to expect from Mahindra Ssangyong Korando C

      Currently Ssangyong has collaborated with Mahindra to explore the Indian market. Dating back to 2012 Auto Expo event, the Korean car-maker Ssangyong had generated some curiosity in the Indian market when it showcased the 'Korando C'. Mahindra and Ssangyong joint veture had seen the launch of their first car named Rexton in India. The Korando C may be the second one if makes it to the Indian roads sometime soon.

      As per sources, Mahindra Ssangyong Korando C is expected to be powered by 2.0-litre turbo-diesel Isuzu engine that has been mated to 6 speed gearbox. Some sources have also stated that the car may get a 2.3-litre Mercedes-Benz engine, whereas the previous one may be shelved. Claims made by the company state that the power-train has been optimized to improve efficiency by up to 8% when driving in Eco mode. On the interior, the car features a 7-inch touchscreen Sat-Nav system and steering-mounted audio controls. The electronic anti-glare mirror boasts of automatic dimming feature. The car's seats also have been stated to be forced ventilated for a comfortable driving experience.

      On the exterior front, the Mahindra Ssangyong Korando C sports a wide grill that is complimented with generous amount of Chrome. As per sources, the SUV measures about 4.4 meters in length and 1.83 meters in width. The stop lights are high mounted and smartly gels with the rear spoiler. Furthermore, the SUV may feature black plastic cladding on all four sides that gives it a bigger and bolder look. Body colored roof rails are eye-catchy and blends well with the car. Some reports suggest that the current generation of Korando stands for Korea Can Do. Headlamps flow into the bumper and has received ample amount of LED lamps.

      Yoo-il Lee, president and chief executive officer, SsangYong Motor Company said, “The Korando C comes with a new innovative style and greater appeal to drivers. I have no doubt that it will be an attractive choice for drivers looking for vehicles for both urban driving and outdoor leisure activities”. Going a year back, media said that the car maybe expected to be launched in the Indian market in 2014, though official confirmation is yet to be received.
