The Lincoln MKX has been spotted camouflaged on the streets of Michigan, US. The spotting of the test mule confirms that the Lincoln MKX will receive a midlife update ever since its launch in early 2015.

The new vehicle will adopt a revised front end and will carry the family design seen on the recent Lincoln MKZ and Continental sedan. The new SUV will also get the iconic grille design as a part of Lincoln design language. The front will also house a split two-tire headlamp assembly adding it a more futuristic look.

Inside the cabin, the MKX should get some light updates and perhaps more Black Label special edition. The new vehicle will get an updated safety feature like automatic emergency braking however it may be an optional feature or will be offered in the top trims.

The MKX will source its power from the same 3.7-litre Ti-VCT V6 engine as the current generation although there is a possibility for a four cylinder engine to makes it way in the new SUV. The new 9-speed automatic developed with GM could replace the current six-speed unit in the upcoming car.

The updated Lincoln MKX is expected to be unveiled in the first quarter on 2018. When launched in the American market, the MKX will continue to rival with Volvo XC60, Audi Q5, Nissan Murano, Infinity QX70, Lexus RX350 and Cadillac SRX.
