The Korean car maker, Hyundai, introduced the Creta (ix25) in 2014 for the international market Followed up with a launch in the Indian market in mid-2015. Recently, the manufacturer launched the updated version of the Creta in the Chinese market featuring a tweaked design.
The updated SUV now boasts of a wider grille and DRL (daytime running lights) which is integrated in to the air dam. The bumpers and the skid plates have also been restyled. The side profile is carried over from its predecessor, with some minor tweaks. It now rides on a new set of designer wheels. Additionally, the SUV now gets twin exhaust tips along with revamped rear bumper and diffusers.
Powering the Chinese Hyundai Creta are two 1.4-litre and the 1.6-litre turbo charged petrol engines. On the other hand, the Indian version currently on sale is powered by the same 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre in petrol variants and a 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engine options. The international variant gets a choice of a six speed manual or a six speed automatic, similar to the Indian spec version.
It is highly likely that the India spec Hyundai Creta will receive the updated styling in due course of time. Post launch, the updated SUV will compete against the Renault Duster and the Nissan Terrano.
