For a while now news has been doing rounds that Tata Motors has been working on developing a sub-four meter saloon based on the upcoming Zica. On few instances the compact saloon has been spotted undergoing road tests in the country, thereby hinting on a possible launch soon. Sources believe that the upcoming vehicle may be rechristened as ‘Tata Sway’ and could possibly replace the ageing Indigo eCS.

The Zica saloon may be powered by 1.2-litre three cylinder petrol engine that generates about 85bhp of power and 114Nm of torque. While, the diesel comes with 1.05-litre three-cylinder engine that generates about 70bhp and 140 Nm of torque. For now, the engines come mated to 5-speed manual gearbox, while AMT is likely to be offered at a later date.

In terms of features, the Zica saloon may carry all features from the Zica like ABS, dual front airbags, two-DIN audio systems with AUX, Bluetooth and USB functions, and multifunction steering wheel. Post launch, the upcoming sedan with a lucrative price tag may emerge as a strong competitor against the likes of Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze, Maruti Swift Dzire and Ford’s Figo Apsire. More details about the vehicle may be known in the coming days.
