Troubles for Tata Motors seem far from being over. Fresh protests on Tuesday at its Singur plant have led Tata to think on relocating its plant to other states. It has already received a slew of offers from various states as well as offers from Sri Lanka to relocate its plant. An unnamed official close to developments on Singur plant reported that Tata may relocate its unit to Karnataka. A senior team from Tata Motors is due to meet Mr. BS Yeddyurappa, Chief Minister of Karnataka discuss shifting of the Tata Nano project to the state of Karnataka.

The company spokesperson refused to comment anything on this speculation. This may be a speculation once again. Earlier rumours had been doing rounds that Tata Nano may roll out from Tata's Pune plant as the company has asked its vendors to deliver the plants to its Pune plant. However, later the company spokesperson officially declared that these are pure speculations and rumours for Tata Nano to roll out from the Pune plant are completely baseless.

Fresh protests loomed up at the Singur plant as protestors refused to take the 70 acres of land offered by the government. They are demanding return or 300 acres of land from the 1000 acre plant of Tata Motors.
