Everyone knows about Tata's two new offerings for the 2014 Auto Expo i.e. the ones codenamed Falcon 4 and Falcon 5. But what's new and exciting are the reports that the auto giant will also launch the updated version of the Tata Sumo Grande, which has been christened as the Tata Movus. The Tata Sumo was first introduced in the Indian automobile market over two decades. One of the first MUVs to be released, the Sumo has been close to India's heart, and managed to sell 100,000 units within three years of its launch. But sadly, However the car has been facing some tough competition with the arrival of cars like the Renault Duster and Ford EcoSport. And thus, Tata Motors is gearing up to re-launch the iconic Sumo Grande with some updates and a new name.

Tata intends to target fleet operators with the Movus, the primary reason being to achieves sales volumes. Though the Movus will more or less inherit its looks from the Sumo Grande, it will receive mechanical changes. What we have gathered trom the reports so far, Tata Motors will replace the 2.2-litre DICOR engine with the Safari Storme’s 2.2-litre VARICOR, diesel mill. Also, it is likely to feature a self-adjusting clutch with a life of 1,00,000 km.

Other changes will include a new timing belt system, a new rack and pinion steering unit and new brakes. But there isn't much to look forward to in terms of interiors except for the reworked dashboard and four-seating configurations.
