Tata will be offering the Harrier in four variants and five colour options. There will be only diesel power and in this case it’s a 2.0-litre diesel producing 138bhp/350Nm and is mated to a six-speed manual. There’s five colours- copper, silver, white and thermistor gold and it measures 4.5-meters in length with a wheelbase of 2.74-meters.

Here is the variant wise break up of what is being offered on each variant

Tata Harrier XE

-Projector headlamps

-Power windows

-Electrically adjustable ORVMs

-Rear parking sensors

-Tilt and telescope adjust for the steering wheel

Tata Harrier XM

This is the second level variant for the Tata Harrier. In addition to the features of the XT variant, you also get:

-Driving modes (Eco, sport and City )

-7.0-inch touchscreen with floating display

-6 speakers

-Steering mounted audio controls

-Follow me home headlamps

-front fog lamps

-Rear parking sensors

-Rear wiper

-Remote central locking

- Six way adjustable driver’s seat

Tata Harrier XT

This is the mid-level variant for the Tata Harrier. In addition to the features of the XM variant, you also get:

-17-inch alloy wheels

-Soft touch dashboard

- 8 speakers

-Android Auto and Apple Car Play

-Reverse parking camera

-Button start

-Climate control

-LED DRLs

-Auto headlamps

-Cruise control

-8 way adjustable driver’s seat

Tata Harrier XZ

This will be the most expensive variant of the Tata Harrier. It gets all the bells and whistles offered with this new premium SUV. Adding in the features of the XT variant, you also get:

-Xenon projector headlamps

-Cornering function for fog lamps

-Oak brown interior colour scheme

-Leather upholstery

-Logo projection from ORVMs

-Terrain response modes

-8.8-inch touchscreen system with floating display

-JBL 9 speaker system

-6 airbags

-ESP, hill hold and descent, roll over mitigation and CSC

-60:40 split folding rear seats

The top-of-the-line XZ variant looks like quite a good prospect in terms of what is on offer. Considering that Tata is not offering AWD, we expect that this XZ variant will be priced around Rs 21 lakhs and this should put it right in the middle of the competition. Its rivals are the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson as well as the production version of the Kia SP and the first MG SUV.
