The Tata Tigor has been launched in India and is available in two variants. They are priced at Rs 5.35 lakhs for the XTA variant and the XZA variant for Rs 6.22 lakhs. The arrival of the AMT variant is a logical progression when you look at how things went for its hatchback sibling, the Tiago. This five-speed AMT is available only with the 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine which produces 84bhp/114Nm.
In terms of features and options, everything stays the same as the equivalent petrol MT models. On the XZA variant you get dual airbags, 2-DIN music system with Bluetooth and steering mounted controls.

For the price of the XTA variant (Rs 5.75 lakhs) you can have the Celerio ZXI (O) AMT, Wagon R VXI+ AMT, Ignis Delta AT as well as the Hyundai Grand i10 Magna AT. The Grand i10 in this case is a mid-level variant, while the others are top spec models.
Similarly, for the price of the XZA variant (Rs 6.22 lakhs) you can buy the Ignis Zeta 1.2 AT and the Nissan Micra XL CVT. Now if you raise the stakes significantly, which in this case is about Rs 60,000, you can have the Brio VX AT, Grand i10 Sportz (O) AT or even the Maruti Suzuki Dzire VXI AMT.

The AMT option is available in two variants which is an indication that Tata wants to expand the range of the AT variants for the Tigor. Also by doing this, it is able to target more variants of AMT range sold by Maruti Suzuki.
