Tata Tiago AMT now becomes more affordable

The Tata Tiago AMT model is now being offered in a lower XTA trim priced at Rs 4,79,252. This is Rs 40,000 lesser than the top-spec XZA variant which alone offered AMT earlier.

Prospective buyers looking for an AMT (automated manual transmission) of the Tiago can now opt for an affordable version in the form of this XTA trim. This new grade is same at the XT variant already on sale, but equipped with Magneti Marelli's automatic gearbox, which Tata calls the EasyShift AMT. The features from the XT will be seen on the XTA trim. This includes body coloured ORVMs, full wheel covers, exterior door handles, the full fabric upholstery, dual-tone interior scheme, Tata's ConnectNext infotainment system and rear parking sensors.

This AMT model is only available with the 85bhp three-cylinder petrol unit. The automatic enables clutchless gearshifts and also gets a sport mode and a creep function. It is the AMT gearbox seen on the Zest and the Nano too.

The AMT model of the Tata Tiago was launched in March this year. Now with the lower entry-level AMT model available for a cheaper rate, the Tiago AMT's sale might increase. We are expecting Tata to introduce the AMT in the Tigor compact sedan too.
