Tata Motors have exhibited the Hexa Tuff at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show. The Tata Hexa was first shown as a concept vehicle at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and it has made its appearance again at this event, albeit in the production ready form.

The company is promoting this Hexa Tuff as a vehicle designed for 'active lifestyle seekers'. It is based on the regular Hexa SUV and gets additional features to make it look sportier. The rear bumper comes embossed with a 'TUFF' badge and the car also gets a bicycle carrier to hold three cycles at a time. The other features like projector headlamps, LED DRLs, honeycomb mesh grille etc. are carried over from the standard Hexa. The cabin gets an intelligent Head-Up display, tyre pressure monitoring system, navigation system and 3D mats.

Under the hood of the Hexa Tuff is the same four-cylinder 2.2-litre VARICOR 400 engine that produces 156bhp of power at 4,000rpm and a peak torque of 400Nm between 1,700 and 2,700rpm. This mill comes mated either to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.

The Tata Hexa Tuff is the same vehicle that was also displayed at the Auto Expo in India last month. We can expect Tata to offer this model as a personalised variant in addition to the standard Hexa SUV. The Hexa is expected to be launched for the Indian market this year to compete with the Toyota Innova.
