The technical specification about the upcoming model is not known for now, but we believe it might be powered by a 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine from JLR. Alternatively, reports also indicate on a possibility of a 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel engine from Fiat on offer. The upcoming vehicle might also get AWD system with Range Rover’s Terrain Response program. The new model will be available manual as well as automatic transmission options.

As seen in images, the vehicle gets Discovery Sport taillamps, while the front is not visible for now, it is expected to get similar upgrades. A familiar Range Rover badging can been seen in the C-Pillar, however this might not be offered on the production ready model. The interior will also be borrowed from the Discovery Sport and will get a large infotainment system on the dashboard.

Post launch, Tata Motors might position the Q501 above the Hexa SUV. In terms of safety, the vehicle is expected to get multiple airbags and ABS as standard. The new model might be launched sometime in 2018 and it may emerge as a strong competitor against Toyota’s Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour. More details about the vehicle will be known in the coming days.
