The Nexon is the new compact SUV that Tata Motors has been working on and it will be launched sometime in early 2017. The Nexon will be competing with the Ford Ecosport and it is based on the same X1 platform like that of the Bolt. Tata recently discontinued the Vista and the Manza and now it is focusing on the Zest and the Bolt. The Nexon will be the third product on the same platform.

The Nexon will be a five-seater SUV and will have a ground clearance of about 200mm. The Nexon’s design will be somewhat like the Range Rover Evoque and a lot of the engineering inputs for this vehicle will be coming from Jaguar Land Rover. Tata Nexon will have the 1.3-litre multijet engine, as per the report. This new compact SUV will be unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo as well. even Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the YBA (Vitara Brezza) for the Indian car market sometime early next year. Tata Motors might just be entering the party a bit late.
