Tata Nexon has been spotted on test in Pune. This new compact SUV from Tata Motors is due to be launched in early 2017. Tata Nexon is based on the Bolt platform and this is being developed with inputs from Tata Motors and Jaguar Land Rover. The new compact SUV will be competing with the Ford Ecosport and the Maruti Vitara Brezza.
The Nexon will be made by Tata Motors not just for the Indian car market but even to export it to other markets as well. The Nexon will be powered by a new range of four cylinder petrol and diesel engines. These are the new generation Revotron and Revotorq engines. Recently Tata introduced the new 1.2-litre Revotron and the 1.1-litre Revotorq on the Zica. These are all three-cylinder engines.
The Nexon will be a five-seater SUV and it will have a ground clearance in excess of 200mm. The Nexon will be priced between Rs 5-9.5 lakhs (ex-showroom) price. This new compact SUV will making its way into the Indian car market mostly with an automatic or an AMT (automated manual transmission). In terms of features it will get two airbags, ABS, in-dash Harman music system with eight speakers.
