Nitol Niloy Group, local distributor of Tata Nano in the Bangladesh market, announced on Monday that the company is all set to roll-out small car Nano in the country early next month. The expected price tag of the car in the Bangladesh market would be around 500,000 taka, equivalent to about INR 3 lakh. However, the final price tag of the car would be depending on the size of levied excise duty by the government.
Speaking to the reporters on Monday, Mr. Abdul Matlub Ahmed, chairman of Nitol Niloy Group said, "We plan to import up to 2,000 cars initially but the figure will be raised with increased demand in the country."
The distributor firm of Nano is expecting that the sales of small car Nano could reach a crucial mark of 10,000 units per annum, over the period of next two years.
Earlier, the Tata Nano model was scheduled to be launched in the Bangladeshi market in October 2011, but due to some pricing related issues the launch got delayed by 4 months. Meanwhile, Tata Motors has already started exporting this car to the neighboring countries like Sri Lanka and Nepal.
