The lost opportunities between Africa and India are reviving up. Tata plans to make a foray into the African markets on large scale basis. Not only the Indians but Africans too are eagerly waiting for the commercial launch of world’s cheapest car Tata Nano in Africa.

Tata Motors plans to not only launch Nano in Africa but also intends to strengthen its commercial vehicle business. Tata Motors is also expand its manufacturing unit in Rosslyn in South Africa.

According to Mr. Ravi Kant, MD, Tata Motors, “''We will be pleased to have the Nano in many African countries.” He also added that it is too soon to say about the complete plan. Moreover, it is also making a feasibility study to start SKD operations in Congo as well as CKD operations in Kenya.

Tata Motors has already acquired Jaguar and Land Rover last month amongst its expansion plans. It is all set to become one of the biggest Indian automobile giants all over the world. It has everything in its kitty – from Nano to Jaguar – to make that dream come true.
