The country’s largest car maker Tata Motors has launched has launched a new version of their popular pick up Xenon in Mumbai. The company is expecting to enhance their market share to 25 to 30 percent in this segment of vehicles. At present, the company has a market share of 20 percent in the pick-up segment. The new Xenon model is offered in a price segment of Rs 5.44-6.34 lakh (ex-showroom price in Thane).
Speaking to the reporters in Mumbai, Mr. Ravi Pisharody, and executive director for commercial vehicles at the Tata Motors, said, "We are quite bullish about the growth outlook in the pick-up segment, and with Xenon, our share in this segment can go up to 25-30 per cent."
It has been more than three years since the company has been successfully selling this vehicle in the Indian market with receiving a staggering response from the buyers of this segment. In the coming months, the firm plans to enhance the production of this vehicle to up to 1200 units, with having plans of rolling-out new variants of this vehicle by the end of this year.
