      Tata Motors enters Bangladeshi passenger vehicle market, introduces Indica Vista, Indigo eCS and Indigo Manza

      Tata Motors, one of the leading automobile makers in the country, has started operations in Bangladesh passenger vehicle market and launched its Indica Vista hatch along with Indigo eCS and Indigo Manza sedans as well. The announcement came on November 27, 2012 and car enthusiasts of Bangladesh can get their hands behind the wheels of Tata models through Nitol Automobiles store based in Dhaka. The Indian subcontinent is the company's most successful business sectors, where Tata Motors enjoys a large customer base in the auto markets of India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

      Expressing his delight at the company entering Bangladeshi passenger vehicle market, Karl Slym, Managing Director (MD), Tata Motors, said, "We are happy and honoured to enter Bangladesh with our passenger cars. Our 40-year association with Bangladesh has given us an insight into the aspiration of the country's motorists. They will be central to our business – we will delight them with the performance of our cars and the comfort and excellence of our service, and establish ourselves as we have in commercial vehicles since 1972."

      Commenting on Tata Motors' new project, Johnny Oommen, Head, International Business, Passenger Cars, said, "Bangladesh's customers for new cars demonstrate high discernment. They will see that reflected in our cars. Our service will be easy-to-reach and prompt."

      Evidently, Tata Motors has significant role in Bangladesh automotive sector and currently has around 53,000 Commercial Vehicles (CV) plying on the roads of Indian neighbour. The company ventured into Bangladesh with its CV division supplying buses about 40 years ago in 1972. At present, Tata Motors has a whopping 70 per cent market share in our neighbour's CV sector and accordingly is the undisputed market leader.

      The Indian auto giant has launched a very basic and 'no-fancy' passenger vehicle portfolio, comprising Indica Vista, Indigo eCS and Indigo Manza in the Bangladesh car market. Tata Motors' freshly launched products will be retailed through its new Nitol Automobiles dealership in Dhaka and the company has also planned to open three more stores in as many Bangladesh cities. The three cars aimed dedicated at Bangladeshi customers possess a remarkable value for money quotients and are expected to help Tata Motors in establishing a major market share in the passenger vehicle sector, alongside its already impressive commercial vehicle presence in our neighbour country.

      Expressing his views on the opening of new retail outlet, Abdul Matlub Ahmad, Chairman, Tata Motors' distributor in Dhaka, NITOL Motors, said, "Our association with Tata Motors goes back over two decades, and we are extremely happy that, in addition to commercial vehicles, Tata Motors has now placed their confidence in us to market their passenger cars and utility vehicles. We share Tata Motors' commitment to its customers in building a business for perpetuity."

      The Tata Indica Vista hatch boasts off a best-in-class interior cabin and boot space, rugged and sturdy built, along with a segment defining fuel efficiency, which makes the car an extremely promising prospect for Bangladeshi audience. Further, the Tata Indigo eCS is a compact sedan and one of the most mileage happy and pocket friendly options available in the market. The Tata Indigo Manza is a mid sized saloon and provides the most luxurious interior setting, besides offering several state-of-the-art comfort and convenience attributes, thereby making it the company's flagship offering on Bangladesh turf, bundled with an affordable price tag.
