At the recently concluded Auto Expo 2016 event in India, Tata Motors had showcased the Kite 5 compact sedan in production ready avatar. Ahead of its planned launch sometime in second half of this year, the vehicle has been spotted on road test in the country. Post launch, the vehicle is expected to emerge as a strong competitor to the likes of Hyundai Xcent, Maruti Swift Dzire and the Ford Figo Apire.
The Tata Kite 5 sedan shall be offered in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol trim shall get 1.2-litre engine three-cylinder Revotron engine that generates about 84bhp of power and 114Nm of torque. The diesel trim on the other hand gets a 1.05-liter three-cylinder Revotorq engine that generates about 69bhp of power and 140Nm of torque. As the vehicle shares the specs with the Tiago, it shall also be offered with five-speed manual gearbox option.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle would measure about 1,647 mm in width, 3,995 mm in length and about 1,535 mm in height. Moreover, coming from the Tata line of cars, the vehicle boasts of offering 420-litres of boot space. Talking about features, the Tata Kite 5 sedan shall get a piano-black centre console for the interior, along with Harman entertainment system. To enhance the drive experience, the vehicle would be offered with multi-drive modes. While for convenience, it offers three-spoke multifunction steering wheel. The pricing aspect and more details on features shall be revealed at a later date.
