Tata Zest Sports Edition launched to celebrate 50000 unit sales

To celebrate the sales milestone of 50,000 units, Tata Motors has introduced the Tata Zest Sportz Edition. It gets some cosmetic changes and is offered at an extra cost as a dealer-level accessory for any of its variants.

There are also some other benefits of up to Rs 68,000 offered as a part of the compact sedan’s second Anniversary in the Indian market. This includes a special scheme with an EMI of Rs 3,999, a free insurance worth Rs 30,000 and an exchange bonus of up to Rs 30,000.

The Sportz edition gets an add-on package that includes a funky side decal, contrast coloured wing mirror housings and rain visors. One should note that the alloy wheels are only offered on the top-of-the-line variant now. However, they can be availed as a dealer-level accessory at an extra cost for any other trim as well.

The engine options are carried over from the present line-up. The Zest comes powered by a 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged petrol mill and a 1.3-litre Quadrajet diesel motor. The former produces 90bhp of power and 140Nm of torque, while the latter is available in two states of tune (75bhp, 190Nm and 90bhp, 200Nm). On the transmission front, a five-speed manual gearbox is standard across the line-up, but the 90PS oil-burner also gets a five-speed AMT gearbox.

Deals like these should help garner some sales for the carmaker that have slowly started to dip. For prospective buyers, the various offers should make the Zest a very attractive value proposition.
