Inspite of facing tough times on the home grounds, Tata Motors is all set to launch its new electric car in Norway next year. It shall launch the electric version of its most popular model, Indica, in Norway as manufacturing electric cars in India is not feasible as it requires a lot of infrastructure.  Norway is making suitable arrangements for making electric cars in the country which would help the company to produce electric car efficiently.

"Right now we want to test it out in Norway with the Norwegian party," managing director Ravi Kant said Wednesday at an industry conference, according to Reuters. "Norway has the necessary infrastructure in place to run electric cars which India lacks," he said.

The electric version of Indica shall travel 175 - 200 km on a fully charged battery, said company official. The battery will take eight hours to charge fully. The vehicle shall run on Lithium batteries that were developed by Norwegian alternative fuel company and Tata Motor's Research facility in the UK. The price of the new electric version of Indica has not yet been disclosed. The car may come to India in two years of time.
