Tata Hexa will be unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo, which is the new MUV from the Indian auto giant. The Hexa will be a six-seater and hence the name. It is based on the X1 platform and will be a revised version of the Aria. The Hexa will be the new flagship for Tata Motors and it will be competing with the Toyota Innova and Renault Lodgy.
Tata has plonked a 2.2-litre VARiCOR engine in the Hexa that produces about 154bhp of power and 400Nm of maximum torque. This engine will be mated to a six-speed manual and an automatic transmission. The Hexa will be rear-wheel drive and there will even be an all-wheel drive version on offer.
The Hexa will come with features like keyless entry, in-dash touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, reverse parking camera, six airbags and ABS with EBD. The music system will be a Harman unit and 10 speakers. The ground clearance of the Hexa will be more than that of the Aria. The Hexa will be priced between Rs 12-16 lakh (ex-showroom) and should be launched in the second half of 2016.
