The new flagship model for Tata Motors will the Hexa. This is a new six-seater MUV that will be launched this year. It is a six seater and hence the name Hexa. Tata Motors has completely re-done the Aria and this is a more sophisticated version of the same platform and a similar powertrain.

The exterior styling of the Hexa is a lot different from the Aria, even though it is more of an evolution of it. The front of the Hexa looks a lot similar to the styling we have seen on the Zest and the Bolt. Tata Motors has been working on a new Hexa for a while and this new design is based on the Impact design language. The side profile is also similar to the Aria but then there are multiple changes in the styling that makes it look a lot more attractive, like the side glass panel for the third row of seats with the Hexa branding is a great touch. The rear too looks classy with the addition of chrome in the perfect proportions. Tata has got an amazing designed MUV and it is the Hexa. This will certainly be a head turner and car buyers in this segment will be tempted to consider the Hexa from any other MUV, thanks to its looks.

The interiors of the Hexa are again premium enough to attract a car buyer. The Hexa has a new generation five-inch Thin Film Transistor (TFT) touchscreen infotainment system exclusively designed by HarmanTM. The infotainment system comes with features such as playback via USB, iPod, SD Card, Aux and Bluetooth Audio. The personalized theatre-like experience in car is achieved via JBL 10 speaker system with subwoofer and amplifier. The car also comes with multiple intelligent features for enhanced convenience such as on-screen SMS display, SMS readout and rear view camera display on infotainment screen. Smart USB charging ports which modulate charging, based on the connected device along with adjustable multi-coloured ambient car illumination in eight different customized colours (white, orange, red, purple, blue, cyan, bluish green, fluorescent green) that changes based on the select drive modes make it an intelligent car to drive.

The interior is accented with mood lighting, whose colours change according to the four drive modes or can be customized with a further four colours. The Hexa comes with safety features like six airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Corner Stability Control, Vehicle Dynamic Control, Traction Control System and Engine Drag Control System. It has a 2.2-litre VARiCOR 400 diesel engine which delivers 154bhp with a maximum torque of 400 Nm. Available with options of the next generation six-speed manual transmission and an six-speed automatic gearbox options.

The Hexa’s suspension set-up hasn’t been changed and this was fine tuned by Lotus Engineering. So, it is likely to have car-like driving dynamics, which makes it a nimble MUV to consider.
