Hexa, the most promising SUV from Tata Motors has been for a long time coming. The company has now opened the bookings for its much awaited vehicle and interested customers can book one at a token amount of Rs 11,000. The SUV is available in six variants - XE, XM, XMA, XT, XTA and XT 4x4. The new model comes as a replacement to its predecessor the Aria crossover.
The Hexa SUV from Tata Motors is powered by a 2.2-litre engine. However, the base variant gets the Varicor 320 which generates 148bhp of power at 4000rpm and 320Nm at 1700-2700rpm, while the higher variant gets the Varicor 400 which generates 154bhp of power and 4,000rpm and 400Nm of torque at 1,700 to 2,700rpm. The SUV will be offered with three gearbox options – five speed manual, six speed manual and six speed automatic.
The Hexa is offered in six and seven seat options with AC vents right up to the third row. The SUV sports smoked headlamps, LED DRLs, glossy black grille, 19-inch alloy wheels and LED taillights. Inside, it gets a five-inch touchscreen that comes paired to a 10-speaker audio system by JBL. The vehicle also gets faux leather upholstery, automatic climate control, LED illumination and a dual-tone dashboard. For safety, the vehicle comes with six airbags.
The Hexa SUV will be launched in the country on January 2017. Post launch, the vehicle will compete strongly against the Mahindra XUV500. More details on the pricing aspect will be known in the coming days. In case of cancellation later, the booking amount will be refunded to potential customers.
