Two wheeler commuter segment in India have a strong reason to cheer about. The Japanese auto giant has launched its new Gixxer in the 150 cc motorcycle segment, and the Let's scooter in the 110 cc scooter segment. Suzuki motorcycles in India have been struggling for quite sometime in past to gain a strong foothold in the Indian market, and with the new launches the company aims at gaining a good footing in local soils.
The Gixxer bike has been stated to be powered by 150 cc four stroke, single-cylinder air-cooled engine. The exact output ratio has not been revealed by the bikemaker, but it is said that the bike's engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Gixxer's single cylinder engine features a single overhead cam that operates two valves. The tank features sharp and aggressive curves which flow towards the tail. Overall,the bike features an aggressive stance. Moreover, the Japanese auto maker boasts of 'Suzuki Eco Performance' system that is reliable and economical. Six-spoke alloys come as standard in this motorcycle. The rear wheels are blessed with monoshock suspension, whereas the front gets telescopic. As per sources, the bike is available in five shades.
The Let's scooter is powered by 112.8cc four stroke, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that generates about 8.7 bhp of power. As per sources, the engine has been borrowed from the existing line of 125 cc scooters. The scooter features telescopic suspension for the front and oil-damped coil spring suspension at the rear. Sources have stated that the Let's scooter is available in shades of red, black, blue, white and silver.
Japanese auto maker has already showcased the Gixxer 150 at a recent event, and it is expected that Suzuki may showcase the Let's scooter in the upcoming 2014 Auto Expo event in Delhi. Both the vehicles are expected to be put-up for the taking sometime soon, and it is anticipated that these two vehicles may bring in a fair share of sales in terms of numbers.
