Sources have revealed that the Suzuki Jimny is expected to be introduced in the Indonesian market in the second quarter of 2016. Davy Tuilan, Deputy Marketing Director, Suzuki sales, at a media gathering in Jakarta said, "The second quarter of 2016 will see the entry of a mini SUV."
The Suzuki Jimny is currently the smallest SUV in the Suzuki SUV line up. As with any serious off-roader, the Jimny uses a ladder frame and steep derivatives are easily conquered with the 34 degree approach angle, and the 46 degree departure angle. The four-cylinder 1.3-litre petrol motor displaces 83bhp at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 110Nm is generated at 4,000rpm. It comes with a transfercase that allows the selection of 2H, 4H and 4L which can be actuated by simply pressing a button on the fly.
The Jimny is known to be able to match bigger and more expensive cars off the road. It’s tiny dimensions of 3.64m, 1.60m and 1.70m (length, breadth and height), along with a wheelbase of 2.25m enables it to effortlessly manoeuvre through the most challenging and cramped situations.
