Getting a driving licence is quite an easy affair in India, at least till now. Sometimes, there is no need even to display your driving skills at the RTO office before getting a driving licence. Sometimes, it is just like you have to show your face and a couple of valid documents and there you go, you have your driving licence. However, this is about to change in the near future.

A newly appointed committee by the Supreme Court have asked the apex body to ensure such a policy so as a designated officer is not able to issue more than 15 to 20 driving licences per day. If the current number is checked, one such officer issues 200 licences per day, which is absolutely ridiculous. Issuing so many licences in bulk can hamper the driving system severely here a bunch of inexperienced drivers flock the traffic. In order to issue maximum number of licences per day, some officers do not even check these applicants. As the result, the number of inexperienced riders increased by the day. If the number of licences issued per day is capped, the officer will have enough time to test each applicant and thus, allowing them to do a thorough check on the new riders. Thus, it will control the rate of inexperienced riders from acquiring a driving licence. If the statistical reports are checked, India issues nearly 1.15 crore licences per year through its 1000 regional transport offices. Definitely the new system will ensure less corruption and a more systematic way of providing driving licence to new riders.
