The yet-to-be launched Ssangyong Tivoli compact SUV has been much awaited model in India. The upcoming vehicle has just been spotted on Indian roads thereby hinting on its possible launch sometime soon. Official specs are not known or now, but it is believed that the vehicle may be offered with a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder diesel engine that currently serves the TUV300.
In the international market, the SsangYong Tivoli gets a 1.6L, 4-cylinder petrol engine that generates about 124bhp of power and 160Nm of torque, while the diesel trim returns about 113bhp and 300Nm of torque. As compared to Hyundai’s Creta, the SsangYong Tivoli offers a longer wheelbase of 2,600mm as compared to latter’s 2,590mm.
The test mule had be heavily camouflaged, based on what could be seen, the vehicle gets 16-inch twin 5-spoke alloy wheels, ORVMs with turn indicators, rear wiper + washer and day/night IRVM. Post launch the vehicle could emerge as a strong competitor against Maruti’s S-Cross, Renault’s Duster and Hyundai’s Creta.
