The new generation 2015 Hyundai Elite i20 will make its global debut in India on August 11. The new model has been spotted several times during its test rounds on Indian roads and this time, the interior images of the hatchback have been surfaced on the web.
The interiors of the new Elite i20 get dual tone color scheme and a series of features. It is equipped with a new 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel with controls for audio. The new centre console has silver inserts and looks more upmarket than the current model. Its new infotainment system comprises of CD/MP3 player, Radio player, AUX-in, USB and Bluetooth. Also visible is the automatic climate control system and small cubby holes. Going by the pictures, it is clearly visible that the power window controls are positioned slightly upward on the door trim to offer much needed convenience. It also gets engine start/stop button on the dash near the music system.
The new generation Hyundai i20 has been designed at Hyundai Motor’s Design centre Europe in Russelsheim, Germany. It is based on the new ‘Fluidic Sculpture 2.0’ design philosophy. The wheelbase of the sedan has been increased to offer spacious cabin. Hyundai Dealers have already started taking pre-orders for the i20 at a token amount of Rs. 10,000. Under the hood, the new i20 will remain unchanged. It will continue to feature the same 89bhp, 1.4-litre diesel and 83bhp, 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine. If media reports are to be believed, the company might improve the automatic gearbox. Instead of 4-speed gearbox, the new model is likely to feature a five-speed automatic transmission.
