Yeti, from the esteemed Skoda has been regarded as a car that had the potential to set the streets on fire, however did not make a huge impact on the impact due to some strange reasons. It has been neglected for a while and the makers have decided to bring that extra zing in this variant, now. The new version, which has been given a smart facelift, will hit the roads on September 10, 2014. Yeti was showcased in India in the Auto Expo in Delhi in January, 2014. The new model has been spotted a few times recently, doing the test runs, and is expected to boost the sales reports of Skoda, on launch.
This model was launched in Europe last year and the model has been showcased in two different variants – Style and Outdoor. However, Outdoor will be the one that will be released in India and this was the one at the Auto Expo. The new facelift has made the outlook bolder for this version. The stance has been made more aggressive and a number of features and kits have been added to the model. Also have been added to the model are black body-cladding features silver skid guards and stylish roof rails. Under body protection has been enhanced for this model, with modifications installed on the headlights, front grille and bumpers. The upholstery of this model, steering wheel and door trims have been slightly modified so as to give it a sleek look. The European version has a number of high-end features like electrically adjustable seats, rear view camera and cruise control. However, it is not ensured that the Indian variant will be provided with the same upgrades.
The car will be installed with a 2.0 litre four-cylinder diesel engine in dual-tune states to generate 110 PS and 140 PS. The 110 PS will be sufficient of producing 250 Nm torque, which will be connected to a 5-speed manual gearbox. On the other hand, the 140 PS variant will be capable of producing a 320 Nm together with a 6-speed gearbox of manual transition. The latter version will be sending power to all the four wheels of the car. The facelift version will be a tad higher priced than the normal one, at nearly 15.2 lakhs INR. It is expected that the new variant will definitely meet the expectations, which had stayed unfulfilled by the earlier version.
