Skoda reveals one off Sunroq

SUVs seem to be donning new roles every day and Skoda seems to have found one more for its Karoq compact model. Built by the students of the Skoda trade school, this one off concept has been painted in red and white and has been dubbed the Sunroq, a rather self-explanatory name.

Even one glance is enough to show you that the car is distinctly Skoda and to be honest kind of looks like what a convertible Euro Rapid sedan would look like. Other than the absent roof and the slightly modified rear-end, this Sunroq has the same dimensions, practicality and interior design as its hardtop sibling. Sitting under that very red hood is a 1.5-litre TSI petrol motor that’s capable of pushing the car from 0-100kmph in a very respectable 8.4 seconds.

This concept is likely to remain a concept only, but it is also a sign of what to expect when VW unveils a convertible version of the Golf based T-Roc around 2020.
