Skoda first introduced the Rapid Monte Carlo edition in the international market way back in 2015. The Czech car manufacturer introduced the vehicle to pay homage to racing history. For now, Skoda India has refused to comment on its launch date. However, reports indicate that the Rapid Monte Carlo edition might be introduced over the next few month. Mechanically, the vehicle will continue to be offered in existing engine options and changes will be limited to cosmetic upgrades.

The exterior of the Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo edition will come in a unique red shade. To complement the bright red shade, the vehicle sports a black shaded grille, wing mirrors, 6-inch alloy wheels and a tailgate spoiler. As for the interior, the vehicle will get an all-black theme and faux-carbon fibre trim on the dashboard. The vehicle will get a flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel and unique floor mats. In order to distinguish it from a regular model, Skoda will be offering upholstery with red stitching on the gear knob and aluminium sport pedals.

Under the hood, the Rapid Monte Carlo edition might continue to be offered in petrol as well as diesel engine options. The diesel version will be the 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine that generates 108bhp of power, while the petrol version will get a 1.6-litre MPI engine that generates 103bhp of power. The petrol variant is available with a five-speed manual and seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox option. The diesel version, on the other hand, gets a five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission option.

Although we have received no information regarding its pricing, we believe it might cost an additional Rs 30,000 – Rs 50,000 over the regular top-spec model. The Rapid Monte Carlo edition will be based on the current top-spec version.
