The premium car segment in India has a new addition with the launch of Octavia Anniversary edition from Skoda India. The newly launched Octavia Anniversary edition is offered for Rs 15.45 Lakh (Ex-Showroom, Maharashtra) and is stated to be based on the Style Plus trim. In the mid of festive season combined with a lucrative price tag shall likely witness a boost in sales for the vehicle. The sedan may emerge as a strong competitor against Renault Fluence, VW Jetta , Hyundai Elantra and the Honda City.
Under the hood, the vehicle has been offered with 1.8-litre TFSI petrol and 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine options. Wherein, the petrol mated to 7-speed dual-clutch transmission generates about 178bhp and 250nm of torque, the diesel gets a six-speed DSG that generates about 141bhp and 320nm of torque.
In terms of features the Skoda Octavia Anniversary Edition gets engine start-stop button, 8 airbags including two rear side airbags, keyless engine entry, Paddle shifters and Smartlink mobile phone connectivity system. Moreover, it carries all the features offered on the Elegance trim as well. Skoda however shall offer the Octavia Anniversary Edition only for a limited period of time.
