Skoda Octavia all set to relish its power packed features

Skoda Auto India is all set to launch the newer version of its erstwhile best selling sedan Octavia. The car was recently unveiled by the company and the buzz is that it will make inroads in the India car market by 9th of October. The car is currently in the production phase at the Aurangabad facility and it would be available soon to the Indian buyers with the wide dealership network of the company. At the unveiling event, Skoda gave all the information regarding the different features of the car; however it maintained silence on its pricing. As revealed, the Skoda Octavia would be provided with a bunch of new and innovative features that would garner the attention of many car buyers in India. To name a few distinct features of Octavia, a compiled list is as follows.

The first and foremost distinct new feature of Skoda Octavia worth mentioning is its Bi-Xenon headlamps that will help better light illumination to enhance visibility. Furthermore, these lights are also provided with a dynamic levelling function, wherein the driver can the change the concentration of rays upwards and downwards depending on the road conditions. Octavia also gets daytime running LED lights that makes it look stylish, besides giving better visibility to other car drivers.

The upcoming sedan of Skoda will also get a Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system that helps in giving the driver a much needed control of the car, in case of emergency. Through the use of Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), ESC helps in maintaining control over the car whenever it skids off from the road. This features assists the driver in avoiding slip and under-steer besides locking up the wheels. In the Tyre Pressure Monitor (TPM) system, the car tells the driver about how much air pressure is left in the tyres. In case when the limit drops to a low, the system gives out a warning to caution the driver. This feature can prevent unwanted conditions occurred due to tyre bursts and punctures.

The other new features of Octavia that stands out is the provision of a panoramic sunroof having tinted glass that reduces the heat of sunlight. The roof is electronically controlled and can be either tipped out or moved backwards. Also to mention, the car deploys a windscreen whenever the sunroof is opened in order to reduce the noise level. To add to the long list of safety and security features in Skoda Octavia, it gets six airbags making the occupants feel safe inside the car. In addition to these, the side airbags of Skoda Octavia lends safety to passengers against the side impact caused by an accident.

For serving the entertainment needs of occupants, Skoda Octavia will come equipped with an advanced audio system, featuring a touchscreen display. The player supports various formats and is compatible with SD/MMC card, USB, AUX-in, besides the Bluetooth connectivity for streaming music directly from iPod. The automatic air conditioning system of Octavia allows passengers to set a temperature limit, depending on their preferences. Apart from it, among the other stand out features of the car is the provision of rear air conditioning vents that equally distributes the air at its rear part.

In case of rainy weather, Octavia is provided with rain sensing wipers that functions automatically as soon as it starts raining. Furthermore, depending upon the intensity of rain, the wipers automatically adjust its speed. Also when the light conditions are not apt for driving, the automatic lighting system adjusts itself accordingly. The upcoming car of Skoda comes along with a 12-way electrically adjustable driver seat functionality that saves up to three settings for seating and outer rear view mirror position of different users. For reverting back to the stored values, a button is provided on the right side of the driver seat.

Skoda Octavia also gets park-tronic sensors that helps the driver in parking the car seamlessly on tight spots. The sensors automatically senses the space at the front and rear end of the vehicle and adjusts itself accordingly to alert the driver once the obstacles comes close to the car. From the display on the central console, drivers can easily distinguish between the distance of the obstacles and the car.
