Czech auto maker, Skoda has confirmed its plans to debut third generation Fabia hatchback at the upcoming 2014 Paris Motor Show. The grand event will begin in the month of October. Interestingly the new Fabia will not underpin, Volskwagen’s signature MQB platform on which Octavia was conceived. The company will keep the vehicle’s current basis intact in the new version too. Skoda is likely to give several tweaks to the exterior and interiors of the hatchback. Under the hood, we expect the vehicle to be equipped with the same set of engines as seen in the tweaked version of Volkswagen Polo. Skoda is expected to offer facelifted Fabia in hatchback and wagon body styles in several international markets.

Rumours of Fabia being rolled out in RS avatar were also doing the rounds, but chances of Fabia RS variant seem bleak. The Czech auto maker is rather focusing at the Monte Carlo variants that appear much sportier.

In India, 2014 Skoda Fabia could be launched by mid-2015, however the hatchback will be introduced in the international markets by the end of this year. To keep the price under affordable tag, Skoda India might think on intensifying local assembling process for the hatchback.
