The Czech car manufacturing giant, Skoda Auto resorted to the social networking website, Facebook to help distinguish between 2013 Skoda Octavia and Skoda Rapid. It was difficult to tell these two saloons apart, when they were standing next to each other. However, better late then never, Skoda Auto has published an image on its Facebook page showing both cars and the difference in their design. This will help in spreading awareness about these two saloons.
Skoda Auto has pointed out that when viewed from side, 2013 Octavia has advantage over Rapid in terms of height and width. On the other hand, Rapid has complete quarter glass panels on the side. Another difference in both designs is that the window line of the Octavia narrows in a sharp manner. This difference is also visible on the tail lamps of both cars as Rapid has rounded tail lamps, whereas, the Octavia has sharp detailing. Octavia also has an extra reflector strip on both edges of the rear bumper. Besides the difference in the features of exteriors, both cars have distinct grille and headlights.
Leave aside the similarity in looks, these two saloons are in an entirely different league of their own. The Skoda Octavia is expected to be launched across three variants viz. Octavia 2013 Petrol, Octavia 2013 vRS and Octavia 2013 Diesel. On the other hand, Rapid is available across 9 trim levels in both petrol and diesel variants. Coming to price, Skoda Octavia 2013 is expected to come with a price tag in the range of Rs. 11.5-15 lakh. At the same time, Skoda Rapid has been priced in the range of 7-10 lakh.
