Czech carmaker Skoda has been a well known brand in the domestic market. The Octavia and Fabia have been fairing pretty well for the company. Currently, in an attempt to expand its market share in the Indian sector, the brand has offered the new Rapid sedan with lucrative discounts. The new Rapid sedan though loaded with world class features, it rather had to take a backseat with Maruti Suzuki Ciaz launched recently.
The Skoda Rapid is available in petrol as well as diesel trims. The diesel trim is powered by 1.5 Liter diesel engine that has been mated to optional 5 Speed manual transmission and 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. The petrol trim is powered by 1.6 Liter engine that is available in optional 5-speed manual transmission or 6-speed triptronic automatic. As part of discount Skoda offers benefits like free 4-year road-side assistance, Rs. 30,000 exchange bonus, free 1st year comprehensive insurance and 4-year warranty. Corporate discount benefit can also be availed by those eligible for it.
The new Skoda Rapid has been launched in petrol trim for about Rs. 7.22 – 9.82 lakh, whereas the diesel trims without DSG are offered at price tag of about Rs. 8.39 – 9.87 lakh. Both the prices are ex-showroom Delhi based.
