The Swedish carmaker, Seat, has revealed the Leon Cupra R ahead of its official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Seat reveals the Leon Cupra R with 306 bhp

The Leon Cupra R goes on to become the most powerful production model ever produced by Seat. The hot hatch will be limited to just 799 units. Powering the Cupra R is the same 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine as the standard Cupra. However, with the clever engine mapping, the output is increased to 306 bhp with a manual gearbox, and 296 bhp with a DSG automatic transmission. Both of which are six-speed units with front-wheel-drive configuration.

The Cupra R rocks exclusive carbon fibre front splitters. The rear diffusers and side skirts too get the same carbon fibre treatment. Elsewhere, there are copper finishes on the wing mirrors, wheels, front air-intake and the badging.  The bodywork also gets flared wheel arches to lend the hot hatch a sportier stance. The interior too get the same carbon fibre and copper treatment as the exterior. The steering wheel and gear lever are wrapped in Alcantara. The Cupra R will be available in three colours – midnight black, Pyrenees grey and the exclusive matte grey.

There are few hardware updates as well. The front axle has a modified camber with the adaptive suspension DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control). The brakes are updated to Brembo units. There is a new exhaust system too.
