The Phantom VIII will premiere next week at ‘The Great Eight Phantoms’ exhibition at Bonhams, London with the Queens Phantom VI State Limousine, the Aga Khan Hooper-built Sedanca de Ville Phantom IV and the first ever Phantom VII that was shipped out of Goodwood in 2003.

Rolls-Royce has worked on a new aluminium-infused spaceframe chassis construction to keep the weighing scale in check. With lighter materials and spaceframe construction, the new Roller should be able to lose a big chunk of weight, something that will help it fit into the stricter emission and efficiency norms to be enforced in the future as well.

The spaceframe construction will also allow the Rolls to have better driving dynamics thanks to the improved blend of chassis flex and rigidity. It will also help Rolls-Royce improve the magic-carpet ride quality. The 6.75-litre V12 petrol engine will continue to power the Phantom VIII and will certainly be more powerful than ever.

Being the world’s most luxurious car, creature comforts will be in abundance and buyers will be offered a wide choice of materials and finishes for their Rollers. It will also be a part of the Bespoke programme that offers an even wider range of customisation and personalisation of the Rolls-Royce cars.
