Rolls-Royce will launch the Dawn convertible for the Indian market tomorrow. The latest creation from the stables of the British automaker, it is inspired from the Silver Dawn of the 1940s and 1950s and was unveiled at the 2016 Frankfurt auto show.

Firstly, this is a four-seater convertible and is the second one after the Drophead coupe. However, this is a sportier model and embodies the British Marquee’s latest design philosophy. Standard design elements include the Spirit of Ecstasy badging, low stance and that massive RR signature chrome grille. The cabin is equally opulent thanks to its full wood finish, leather seats and heavy dose of comfort features like climate control, electrically adjustable everything  and a canvas roof that will drop down in under 30 seconds.

Powering this elegant beast is a 6.6-litre twin-turbo V12 that produces 563bhp and 780Nm of torque with power going to the rear wheels  via an eight-speed AT. Despite weighing 2.4-tonnes its massive torque figure means it can do 0-100kmph in just less than five seconds and then go on to hit an electronically limited top-speed of 250kmph.

As is the case with every other Rolls-Royce, each car will be customised to the individual owner’s tastes and preferences. It is expected to be priced around Rs 7 crore and will be brought in via the CBU route.
